Upgraded ESXi servers run in evaluation mode until licensed. Before the 60-day evaluation period expires, use this process to add a vSphere license for the updated version of ESXi.
Open a web browser and connect to the ESXi web host client.
Login using the existing root credentials or temporary admin account if applicable.
Open a web browser and connect to the ESXi Web host client.
Login using the existing root credentials or temporary admin account if applicable.
Navigate to HostLicensingAssign license.
Enter the new license and click Check license.
After the host confirms the license as valid, click Assign license.
