Avaya J100 Series IP Phones support SIP and H.323 protocols. The signaling protocol specifies the phone software and controls the upgrade file request for a phone restart or reset.
Use one of the following options to set or update the signaling protocol:
The phone administration menu.
The SIG parameter in the 46xxsettings.txt file.
The DHCP option, Option 242 or Option 43.
When you change the signaling protocol, the phone retains configuration parameters, such as Group and SSON.
