Powering off CMS on a virtual machine

About this task

Use this procedure to shut down CMS and the virtual machine. Shut down the system when you do maintenance on the virtual machine hardware.

Procedure

  1. Log on as root at the console.
  2. Enter shutdown -h 0

    The system displays a message like the following:

    Broadcast message from root@example
 (/dev/pts/0) at 20:13 ...
The system is going down for halt NOW!
