Uninstalling CMS (uninstall)

About this task

You can use this process to uninstall the CMS RPM from the system.

Before you begin

Caution:

Refer to the readme file on the CMS software disc to determine the state of CMS before uninstalling CMS.

Procedure

  1. Log in to the CMS server with root privileges.
    • To log in as root from a remote connection, you must log in using an CMS user ID, then enter su - root to log on with root privileges

  2. Enter cmssvc. The system displays the service menu.
  3. Turn off the CMS software:
    1. Select run_cms.
    2. Select Enter the number to turn off the CMS software.
  4. Enter the number associated with the uninstall option. The system displays messages similar to the following:
    The following package is currently installed:
    cms-r19-XX.X.x86_64
    Do you want to remove this package? [y,n,?] ?
  5. Enter Y to uninstall CMS.
  6. Accept the default value of y for each prompt. The CMS software is removed.
