Syntax

Run the following command as a super-user:

 aideDBUpdate
Note:

You must enable Advanced Intrusion Detection Environment (AIDE) before running the aideDBUpdate command. To enable AIDE, see setCMAide.

Description

Use aideDBUpdate to update the AIDE database when the following tasks are completed on your system:

  • Patches are installed.

  • Configurations are updated.

Warning:

If you do not run the aideDBUpdate command when the changes are made to your system, the AIDE reports will flag the files and directories as potential security breaches.

When AIDE is enabled, it is recommended to go through the following steps when making a change to the system:

  • Using the aideCheck command, run an AIDE database check to make sure that no unexpected changes are currently present.

  • Perform the upgrade or configuration change.

  • Run the aideDBUpdate command to re-initialize the AIDE database to take into account the recent changes.
