Description
Failover Parameters
Report Interval
Communication Manager sends a status message to each Avaya Aura® MS on the Communication Manager reporting list, which indicates whether Communication Manager is active or inactive for the specific media server. A short report interval increases network traffic and increases the CPU load of Communication Manager and Avaya Aura® MS.
Report Expiration
Duration for Avaya Aura® MS to retain the status message. A short report expiration facilitates rapid failover, however increases the risk of unintended failover due to temporary conditions, such as a server reboot.
Fallback Parameters
Auto Return
Controls the recovery or fallback to the main server. You can set the Auto Return field to any of the following:
yes: The Time Delay field is available. Time delay is the duration for the main server to be connected to Avaya Aura® MS before considering the network stable enough to start the fallback. The fallback to the main server takes a minute or two to fallback, subject to the specified time delay.
no: Starts the recovery manually according to your time of preference. You must type the command enable ms-return.
scheduled: The Day and Time fields are available. You can set the day and time for the recovery of the main server. The recovery occurs at the next occurrence of the specified day and time.
