Creating an SNMPv3 user profile

About this task

Create a user profile to match the System Manager TrapListener settings.

Procedure

  1. In System Manager, click Services > Inventory > Manage Serviceability Agents > SNMPv3 User Profiles.
  2. Click New.
  3. Enter the following information:
    1. User Name: Enter the same SNMPv3 user name as the TrapListener. The default is initial.
      Note:

      The user name can contain the following characters: alphanumeric, period, underscore, white space, single quote, and hyphen. The user name cannot be an empty string.

    2. Authentication Protocol: Use the Authentication Protocol of the TrapListener service. The default is md5.
    3. Authentication Password: Use the Authentication Password of the TrapListener service.
    4. Privacy Protocol: Use the Privacy Protocol of the TrapListener service. The default is AES.
    5. Privacy Password: Use the Privacy Password of the TrapListener service.
    6. Privileges: Select a privilege from the drop-down menu. Using the Read/Write privilege, you can perform both GET and SET operations on MIBs. Using the Read privilege, you can perform only the GET operation on MIBs. The default is None.
  4. Click Commit.
