You can log in as a guest user to the Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience on an Avaya Vantage™ device where another user is already logged in. You can log in irrespective of whether the device is locked or unlocked. When you log in as a guest user, you can access your contacts and use your extension to make calls for a limited time.
Note:
When the primary user uses a SIP account, the guest user must log in using SIP login credentials. If the primary user uses unified login credentials, the guest must also log in using unified login credentials.
After logging in, a guest user sees the same language as the primary user on the device. To use the device in a specific language, log in as a guest user on a device that is already set to your desired language.
The guest user login session is not preserved after reboot. If the phone reboots, the primary user is automatically logged in.
When the guest login session is ended, the primary user account is automatically resumed. When the primary user automatically logs in, the device is locked if the Screen lock is enabled for the device.
Before you begin
Ensure that your administrator enables the Guest Login feature on the Avaya Vantage™ device.
Ensure that your administrator enables the use of features when the device is locked to access the Guest Login on the Lock screen.
Perform one of the following actions:
On the Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience, tap ExtensionGuest Login.
On the Lock screen, tap Guest Login.
STEP RESULT:
The device displays the Login screen.
In the Username field, enter your SIP or Avaya Aura® Device Services username.
In the Password field, enter your user password.
Increase or decrease the Guest login duration according to your requirement.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
A valid duration is from 1 to 12 hours.
Tap Next.
STEP RESULT:
Depending on the settings your administrator configures, the device might prompt you to enter a password to unlock it.
The login process takes approximately 40 seconds to complete.
When the guest user logs in successfully, the Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience displays the name and extension associated with the guest user account.
If a guest user is logged in and the device gets locked, the Guest login feature is not displayed, and the primary user can log in.
If the screen lock is enabled on the device, enter your unified communications login password to unlock it.

If you attempt to unlock the device unsuccessfully with the wrong password for the maximum allowed number of times, the device resets to its factory settings and deletes all user data. Avaya Vantage™ warns you before reaching the maximum number of failed attempts. A device administrator sets the maximum number of failed attempts limit through the PHONE_LOCK_PASSWORD_FAILED_ATTEMPTS parameter.
