Enabling screen lock

You can enable the screen lock on the device to automatically lock it after a period of inactivity. When this feature is enabled, you can also manually lock the device when it is not in use. Screen lock is disabled by default.
  1. Navigate to SettingsSecurity.
  2. In the Device security area, tap Screen lock.
    STEP RESULT:
    If your administrator enables the platform login screen on your device, you see the Screen lock toggle button to enable screen lock. Proceed to Step 3.
    If your administrator disables the platform login screen and you get the Home screen after a start-up without logging in, you see screen lock options to choose from. Proceed to Step 4.
  3. Tap the Screen lock toggle button to enable screen lock.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The device enables screen lock. On the locked screen, enter your SIP or unified login password to unlock the device.
  4. Select one of the following options to unlock the device:
    • Swipe: The device unlocks when you swipe the screen up.
    • Pattern: Set the unlock pattern by connecting dots on the screen.
    • PIN: Enter 4 or more digits. Longer PINs tend to be more secure.
    • Password: Enter 4 or more characters.
    • None: The screen lock is disabled.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    The device enables screen lock. On the locked screen, use the configured method to unlock the device.
  5. To set the idle time duration after which the device automatically locks, complete the following steps:
    1. Navigate to SettingsDisplaySleep.
    2. Select the idle time duration.
