You can send and receive text-based instant messages with Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience. Instant messaging is only available when your administrator enables the feature on Avaya Vantage™.
Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience supports instant messaging in the Avaya Aura® environment. The upcoming IP Office Release 11.1.2 will support instant messaging with Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience.
Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience supports the following instant messaging features:
Start an instant messaging conversation with a contact from your contact list, call history, or messages list.
You can send instant messages to a contact added as your enterprise or local contact.
Receive group messages and participate in multiparty conversations.
However, you cannot start a multiparty instant messaging conversation through Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience.
Insert a static emoji supported by the native keyboard into a text message.
Add a subject to an instant messaging conversation and edit the subject.
View new message alerts in the notification area and open the conversation from the notification area to read. From the notification area, you can also mark a new message as read.
Escalate a point-to-point instant messaging conversation to an audio or video call.
You cannot escalate a multiparty conversation to an audio or video call.
Through Avaya Vantage™ built-in UC experience, you currently cannot:
Start a multiparty instant messaging conversation.
Send and receive attachments in an instant messaging conversation.
