Resetting and assigning a user extension to another user

Reset an extension and assign this extension to another user. You can select to reset user settings, device settings, and group memberships of the extension.
Before you begin
Ensure that you disable the extension you are planning to reset.
  1. Click UsersUser ListUsers with Extensions.
  2. Next to the disabled user, click the More icon.
  3. Click Reset and Assign.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Avaya Cloud Office Service Web displays the Reset and Assign window.
  4. On the Reset Settings tab, select the check boxes of the settings to reset and click Next.
  5. On the Assign New User tab, in the Setup Option section, select one of the following options:
    • Send invite: To set up the user by sending a welcome email with an activation link.
    • Activate by assigning credentials: To set up the user by assigning credentials. You must create a password, a PIN, a security question, and an answer for each user. The user does not receive a welcome email.
      When you select Activate by assigning credentials, Avaya Cloud Office Service Web displays the Credentials, New User Info, and Settings sections.
    • Activate later: To set up the user now, but activate them later. The user does not receive a welcome email.
  6. If you select Activate by assigning credentials, do the following:
    1. In the Credentials section, complete the Password, Reenter Password, PIN, and Reenter PIN fields.
    2. From the Security Question list, select a question.
    3. In the Answer field, type an answer for the security question.
    4. In the Emergency Response Location section, click Add and select the appropriate location.
  7. In the New User Info section, complete the mandatory the First Name, Last Name, and Email Address fields.
  8. Complete the Contact Phone, Mobile Phone, Job Title, and Department fields.
  9. If you have multiple company sites, select the user's site from the Site list.
  10. To modify the user's role, under Assigned Role, click Edit Role and select a new role.
  11. In the Settings section, select the check boxes of the settings to activate.
  12. Click Reset and Assign.
    STEP RESULT:
    Avaya Cloud Office Service Web displays the pop-up window with the confirmation message.
