Index

The Index number of the DNS server. This number determines the order in which the DNS servers are accessed when the device tries to resolve a remote peer host name.

IP Address

The IP address of the DNS server

Type

How the DNS server was added to the list:

  • Static — added manually

  • PPP — gathered using PPP protocol

  • DHCP — gathered using DHCP protocol

Interface

The interface running the PPP or DHCP protocol that discovered the DNS server (where applicable)

The following list consists of configured static domain names (suffixes) used to complete non-FQDN names (host names that do not end with a dot). These names aid the DNS Resolver in resolving a remote peer host name to an IP address.
