Configures a description for the current interface. Use no description to clear the description of the current interface.

Interface: FastEthernet (L2, L2-L3, PPP L2, PPP L2-L3), VLAN (L2, L2-L3), Loopback (L2, L2-L3), Tunnel (L2, L2-L3), Dialer (L2, L2-L3), USB-modem

To specify the VLAN 3 interface description as Marketing VLAN:

Gxxx-001(if:Vlan 3)# description Marketing VLAN
