ip rip rip-version

Specifies the RIP version running on the interface basis.

Syntax

ip rip rip-version [1|2]


Parameter	Description	Possible Values	Default Value
1	Keyword indicating that RIP version 1 packets should be used
2	Keyword indicating that RIP version 2 packets should be used

read-write

interface:FastEthernet (L2-L3, L3, PPP L2-L3, PPP L3), VLAN (L2-L3, L3), Loopback (L2-L3, L3), Tunnel (L2-L3, L3), Dialer (L2-L3, L3)

To specify that RIP version 2 packets should be running on the FastEthernet interface:

Gxxx-001(if:fastEthernet 10/2)# ip rip rip-version 2
