timers basic

Sets RIP timers. Use no timers basic to set the RIP timers to their default values.

Syntax

timers basic update invalid

no timers basic


Parameter	Description	Possible Values	Default Value
update	The RIP update timer, in seconds	30 or more
invalid	The RIP invalid route timer, in seconds	30 or more

Router: rip

To set the update timer to 30 seconds, and the invalid route timer to 180 seconds:

Gxxx-001(router:rip)# timers basic 30 180
