Fixed-purpose buttons on a call center phone

Prolog information
Fixed-purpose buttons are static buttons on the phone and serve fixed functions. For example, the Headset button to answer a call by using the headset.
A small subset of these buttons also have an indicator to indicate that the button function is activated. For example, when on mute, the indicator in the Mute button is lit.
The following table provides information about the fixed-purpose buttons that are available on the supported UNIStim phones. Depending on whether you are using a desk phone or a soft phone, you might have to press or click the buttons.

Copy
Click or press the Copy button to copy a network service, feature, or folder.
Services
Click or press the Services button to access the following services:
  • Language
  • Date/Time
  • Set Info
  • Call Log Options
  • Ring type
  • Call Timer
  • Change Feature Key Label
  • Name Display Format
  • Virtual Office Login and Virtual Office Logout
  • Test Local Mode and Resume Local Mode
  • Password Admin
    • Station Control Password
Note:
  • Virtual Office Login and Virtual Office Logout are available only if Virtual Office is configured.
  • Test Local Mode and Resume Local Mode are available only if Branch Office is configured.
Quit
Click or press the Quit button to quit a network service or feature.
Navigation arrows
Use the navigation arrows to scroll through menus and lists on the display screen.
Send/Enter
Press the Send/Enter button, at the center of the Navigation key cluster, to confirm the menu selection.
You can use the Send/Enter key to select only the current highlighted item on the display screen of the phone.
Inbox/Message
Click or press the Inbox/Message button to view the messages or return a call.
Shift/Outbox
Click or press the Shift button to switch between two feature key pages when a second feature key page exists.
Directory
Click or press the Directory button to view the Network Directory.
Volume
Click or press the volume buttons to increase or decrease the volume.
Mute
Click or press the Mute button to only listen during the call without transmitting.
When on mute, click or press the Mute button to unmute and return to a two-way conversation.
The Mute button also mutes the headset microphone.
Speaker
Click or press the Speaker button to answer and make calls using the hands-free speaker.
Dial pad
Click or press numbers on the dial pad to dial a number.
Release
Click or press the Release button to end an active call.
Expand
The Expand button to launch the GXAS applications window.
Note:
Although the Expand button is available on the phones, this button is not operational because Device Adapter does not support this button in the current release.
Headset
Click or press the Headset button to answer and make calls by using the headset.
Hold
Click or press the Hold button to place an active call on hold. The feature key label for the line placed on hold displays a flashing icon. Click or press the Line key to return to the call.
