Setting up No Hold Conference

Last Updated : Feb 27, 2020 |
Prolog information
You can set up a conference call without interrupting the current conversation by using the No Hold Conference feature.
The No Hold Conference feature does not depend on your login status.
Communication Manager handles all the call operations for the No Hold Conference feature.
Device Adapter does not support merging one conference with another. For example, if you are already on a conference call by using the No Hold Conference feature, you cannot merge and join another Meet Me conference call.
Before you begin
Ensure that:
  • The administrator has programmed Noholdconf on one of the programmable feature keys or on the expansion module.
  • You are currently on an active call.
  • The participant destination extension is available to receive calls.
  • You are in the Manual-in or Auto-in mode to receive an incoming ACD or DAC call.
    Note:
If the incoming call is on a station’s extension, then logging in is not required.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • During an active call, press the Noholdconf key.
If an extension number is pre-configured for no hold conference, do the following.
      • Press the Noholdconf key which dials the pre-configured extension number directly.
    • During an active call, if the extension number is not pre-configured, do the following:
      1. Press the Noholdconf key.
      2. Dial the required extension number followed by #.
Expiry of the inter-digit timer also indicates that the dialing is complete. The inter-digit timer is five seconds after the last digit was entered.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    Note:
The destination number can be an extension number or an external number which you can dial using a PSTN trunk. The destination must not be the Vector Directory Number.
You must not press the following feature keys after pressing the Noholdconf key to dial a number directly. Pressing these keys will abort the No Hold Conference feature:
    • Hotline two-way using an abbreviated dialing list
    • Speed Call
An active call between you and the caller will continue while you dial an extension number of the participant or until the participant for no hold conference answers the call.
When the destination extension answers the call, a three-way conference is established between you, the caller, and the extension number (pre-configured or new number).
  2. Repeat the previous step to add participants to the existing no hold conference.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
You can add maximum of six participants.
