If you receive a new voice mail message or have any unopened voice mail message, the message waiting indicator LED on the upper-right corner of your phone is lit.
Depending on the message waiting indicator configuration for the phone, the lit message waiting indicator LED indicates any of the following:
If the system administrator has configured the message waiting indicator for your agent ID, then:
A lit message waiting indicator LED indicates that you have one or more unopened voice mail messages in your agent voice mail box if:
A voice mail account is configured for your agent ID.
You are logged in to the phone as a call center agent.
A lit message waiting indicator LED indicates that you have one or more unopened voice mail messages in the voice mail box of the station extension if:
A voice mail account is configured for the station extension.
You are logged out of the phone as a call center agent.
If the system administrator has configured the message waiting indicator only for the station extension and if a voice mail account is configured for the station extension, then:
Irrespective of whether you are logged in or logged out of the phone as a call center agent, a lit message waiting indicator LED indicates that you have one or more unopened voice mail messages in the voice mail box of the station extension.
The default text that appears on the agent login screen of the phone to indicate that the voice mail messages are from the agent voice mail box is MWI: Agent.
The default text that appears on the phone to indicate that the voice mail messages are from the voice mail box of the station extension is MWI: Station.
The same LED, but in a flashing mode, is also used to indicate an incoming call.
