Prolog information
This chapter contains information about basic call center phone operations and call modification operations such as call forward and call transfer. Call center agents and supervisors can perform these operations, except for a few operations that can be performed by supervisors only.
This chapter also explains call handling by using MDA and Sequential Registration.
With Device Adapter you can handle incoming calls by configuring the following ringing alert options per call appearance or bridged appearance key:
  • Normal ringing: The call appearance or bridged appearance key is set as ringing.
  • Silent alerting: The call appearance or bridged appearance key is set as no ring.
  • Delayed interval followed by normal ringing: The call appearance or bridged appearance key is set as delayed ringing. In delayed ringing, a station rings silently for several ring cycles, and then begins ringing.
  • Normal ringing till the configured time interval followed by silent: The call appearance or bridged appearance key is set as abbreviated ringing. In abbreviated ringing, a station rings for several cycles, and then changes to silent alert.
Note:
The system administrator must configure the ringing alerts and time intervals for delayed and abbreviated ringing properly. You cannot change these settings from CS 1000 phone screen as the CS 1000 phone does not have the feature menu.
