IP base stations are supplied with a mounting bracket and a 1.2 metre (4 foot) LAN cable. Power the base station using IEEE 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE). Alternatively, the base station might use an external power supply (Optional regional dependent part from Avaya) provided that an outlet socket exists within 8 metres (26 feet) cable distance.
The original IPBS1 versions of these base stations have been replaced by IPBS2/IPBS3 versions. The two types are functionally the same and can be mixed in the same installation. Avaya will continue to offer the same versions of the IPBS2/IPBS3 as were offered for the IPBS1
Important:
For IP Office Release 10.0 and higher, IPBS1 base stations are only supported as slave radio base stations. IPBS1 base stations are no longer supported in other roles, for example as master base stations. For systems being upgraded, any existing IPBS1 base station being used in a non-slave role must first be replaced in that role with an IPBS2/IPBS3 or IPBL1.
The IPBS2/IPBS3 products are fully interoperable with IPBS1 products and the IP DECT Gateway solution.
