Use this procedure to shut down both the On Line (active) and Off Line (standby) servers.
Procedure
Log in to the System Management Interface (SMI) for the Off Line (standby) server.
Select Data Backup/Restore > Backup Now and backup the data.
Note:
This procedure shuts down both servers and terminates Communication Manager, meaning that the entire telephone system is inoperable including Emergency Transfer. Users cannot make any telephone calls.
Select Shutdown Server from the main menu.
The Shutdown This Server page displays.
Select Immediate Shutdown and clear Restart server after shutdown.
Press the Shutdown button and wait until the server has powered down.
On the System Management Interface (SMI) for the On Line (main) server select Data Backup/Restore > Backup Now and backup the data.
Select Server > Shutdown Server with these options:
Select the Immediate Shutdown option.
Select Shutdown even if this is active server (or Shutdown even if this is the standby server and it is not busied out).
Do not select Restart server after shutdown.
Click Shutdown and wait until the server powers down.
When both of the servers are powered down, remove power from the servers.
