Troubleshooting Edge LSP WebSocket tunnel

Last Updated : Feb 15, 2024 |

About this task

The Edge Local Survivable Processor (LSP) uses a WebSocket tunnel to communicate with the main Communication Manager server. If the LSP is in Edge Topology or the main Communication Manager with at least one Edge LSP configured, then Communication Manager gets active, and the tunnel starts.

Perform the troubleshooting steps of this procedure on Edge Topology and the main Communication Manager server.

Procedure

  1. To verify awtun service on the main Communication Manager server, use the command systemctl status awtun.
    Note:

If the service is not running on the main Communication Manager server, verify that the Edge LSP was configured in the survivable processor page. If the service is not running on the LSP, the service is restarting. Check the error messages in the awtun log file: /var/log/awtun.log.

  2. Use the awtunstat command available to administrators to display the tunnel connections on the main Communication Manager server and the LSP.

You must see one connection on the LSP and one for each Edge LSP on the main Communication Manager server. Otherwise, check the error messages in /var/log/awtun.log on Edge Topology and the main Communication Manager server.
