Logging to an external syslog server is disabled by default in Communication Manager. Use this procedure to administer an external syslog server.
Procedure
At the System Management Interface (SMI) select Security > Syslog Server to display the Syslog Server page. Your system might show a different view depending on your configuration.
Control File Synchronization of Syslog Configuration gives you the option to synchronize the syslog configuration file with a standby or Survivable Remote Server/Survivable Core Server server:
Check Synchronize syslog configuration to the standby server (duplicated servers) if you want to synchronize the main server’s syslog configuration to the standby server.
Check Synchronize syslog configuration to all LSP and ESS servers if you want to synchronize the main server’s syslog configuration to the administered Survivable Remote Server/Survivable Core Server(s).
Click the button next to Enable logging to the following syslog server.
Type the server name in the server name field.
Note:
Specify only one server in this field.
In the Select Which Logs Are to be Sent to the Above Server section, check the boxes next to the names of the logs that you want to send to the external syslog server.
