Configuring audio settings

About this task

Configure the basic audio settings, including available audio inputs and outputs and their volume level, incoming call ringtone, and microphone settings. You can also enable the 3A algorithm so that third-party applications can use the codec 3A for audio processing. 3A combines three algorithms: Acoustic Echo Cancellation (AEC), Background Noise Suppression (ANS), and Automatic Gain Control (AGC).

Procedure

  1. On the Settings menu, select Audio.
  2. On the Audio screen, from the Audio Input list, select one of the following options:
    • Auto: The codec automatically determines the audio input.

    • Customize: You can manually select the audio input to use.

  3. If you selected the manual setting for the audio input, select the audio inputs that you want to use.
  4. For the Input Detection setting, select Detection to speak into the microphone and test the audio input.
  5. For the Input Volume setting, select the volume level for the audio input.
  6. From the Audio Output list, select one of the following options:
    • Auto: The codec automatically determines the audio output.

    • Customize: You can manually select the audio output to use.

  7. For the Output Volume setting, select the volume level for the audio output.
  8. From the Ring list, select the ringtone for an incoming call.
  9. To allow third-party applications to use the codec 3A audio processing, toggle on the APP 3A switch.

    Installing third-party applications is not currently supported.

  10. On the remote control, press Back to return to the Settings menu.
