About this task

Configure global codec settings, including the display text, basic call features, Standby mode, web interface access, language, and time. You can also enable SRTP encryption to protect your call data and select the transmission protocol for SIP calls.

Procedure

  1. From the Settings menu, select General.
  2. On the General screen, in the Venue Name field, enter the codec display name for conferences and streaming.
  3. From the Color list, select the font color for the codec display.
  4. From the Font Size list, select the font size for the codec display.
  5. For Avaya Room System C190, if you select a customizable font size, in the Text Pixels field, enter the font height in pixels.
  6. From the Position list, select the relative text position for the codec display.
  7. To enable the Auto Answer feature for incoming calls, enable the Auto Answer switch.

If you disable Auto Answer, you receive a dialog box for each incoming call to the codec, requesting you to accept the call. With Auto Answer enabled, all incoming calls are automatically answered, and you do not need to accept them.

  8. To set the status to Do Not Disturb (DND) and block all incoming calls, enable the No Disturbing switch.

For example, you can enable the DND status during presentations and streaming. The codec does not play a ringtone or display a notification for an incoming call.

  9. For the Auto Standby setting, select the time of inactivity after which the codec goes into Standby mode.
  10. To enable access to the web interface through HTTPS, enable the Web Access switch.
  11. If you enable web interface access, to end a web interface session after 30 minutes, enable the Automatically close in 30 minutes switch.

If you enable the Automatically close in 30 minutes switch, the session access ends after 30 minutes. You can enable it again through the GUI menu.

  12. To enable an HTTPS connection for the web interface, toggle on the Enable WEB Service switch.
  13. For the SIP Transmission Mode setting, select the transmission protocol for SIP calls.
  14. To enable SRTP encryption of call data, toggle on the SRTP Encryption switch.
  15. From the Language list, select the GUI menu language.
  16. From the TimeZone list, select the time zone corresponding to your location.

The codec displays the time according to the selected time zone on the Home screen of the GUI menu.

  17. From the WIFI Country/Region Code list, select the option corresponding to your region.

If you purchase an Avaya Room System C190 model without the Wi-Fi capability, this setting is unavailable.

  18. For the Time Format setting, select one of the following options:
    • 24 hour clock: The Home screen clock uses the numbers 00:00 to 23:59, and 00:00 indicates midnight.

    • 12 hour clock: The Home screen clock runs from 1 a.m. to 12 o'clock noon and then from 1 p.m. to 12 o'clock midnight. "12 p.m." indicates 12 o'clock noon, and "12 a.m." indicates 12 o'clock midnight.

  19. To set the codec time automatically using the Network Protocol Time (NTP), enable the Set Time Automatically switch.
  20. On the remote control, press Back to return to the Settings menu.
