Upgrading the codec software

Last Updated : Sep 12, 2024 |

About this task

You can obtain the codec software updates from a server or a USB drive. Depending on the option that you select, the codec automatically detects if there is a newer version of the upgrade file available and starts the upgrade process.

Important:

Do not power off the codec during the upgrade process as this action might corrupt the file system and require a factory reset.

Before you begin

Ensure the following:

  • If you want to obtain the upgrades from a USB drive, upload the update.xml and <codec model>-ota-AVAYA-v<version>.zip files to its root directory and insert it into a USB slot on the back panel.

  • If you want to obtain the upgrades from an HTTP server, specify the server IP address and the folder with the upgrade files in the Others submenu of the Settings web interface menu. For more information about the upgrade process flow, prerequisites, and the web interface configuration, see Upgrade process for Avaya Room System C100 Series and Upgrading the codec software.

Procedure

  1. On the Settings menu, select About.
  2. On the About screen, do one of the following:
    • To obtain the upgrade file from an HTTP server, for the Remote Upgrade setting, click Start.

    • To obtain the upgrade file from a USB drive, for the USB Upgrade setting, click Start.

The codec restarts to complete the upgrade process.
