Accessing the web interface

About this task

You can access the web interface from a Google Chrome browser using the codec IP address. After logging in to the web interface, you can see the side navigation pane and the Place A Call page.

If you log in to the web interface for the first time, you are required to change the default password and re-enter the new credentials. After you enter the default credentials, the web interface automatically displays the window to change the password and then redirects you to the Login page again. You must change the default password to protect your configuration data in case of a security breach.

Before you begin

Ensure you do the following:

  • Enable the HTTPS web interface connection from the GUI menu. For more information about enabling the web interface connection, see Configuring global settings.

  • Obtain the codec IP address to access the web interface.

  • Obtain the web interface username and password. You can get the default username and password from the release notes.

Procedure

  1. In the Google Chrome browser, enter the codec IP address in the following format: https://<IP address>:port.

    Configure an HTTPS connection for the web interface from the System Security page on the Settings menu.

    The default port number for the HTTPS connection is 65443. For example, you can enter https://<IP address>:65443.

  2. On the Login page, enter your username and password.
  3. Optional To clear the entered username and password and re-enter them, click Reset.
  4. Optional If you do not want to enter the username and password at the next login, select the Remember Account check box.
  5. Click Login.
  6. Do one of the following:

    • If you have already changed the default password, proceed with the codec configuration.

    • If you log in to the web interface for the first time, continue with steps 7–9 to change the default password.

  7. In the Original password field, type the default password.
  8. In the Latest password and Verify password fields, type the new password.

    You must type a password that is 8 to 16 characters long, including upper- and lower-case letters, numbers, and special characters.

  9. Click OK.

    The web interface redirects you to the Login page, and you must re-enter the credentials with the new password.
