Configuring scrolling captions

About this task

To add a lot of text to the codec video output, configure scrolling captions. You can also define the caption position relative to the video central horizontal and vertical lines so that the text does not overlap with the banner and codec name.

Procedure

  1. On the Settings menu, go to Subtitles > Scroll Caption.
  2. On the Scroll Caption page, for the Font Size setting, select the text font size.
  3. If you selected the custom font size option, in the Text Pixel field, type the font size in pixels.
  4. For the Font Position setting, select the scrolling caption position relative to the OLED display center.
  5. For the Scrolling Mode setting, select the horizontal or vertical scrolling of the captions.
  6. For the Horizontal Rolling or Vertical Rolling setting, select the scrolling direction of the captions.
  7. For the Rolling Speed setting, select the scrolling speed.
  8. Select the caption offset position relative to the central horizontal or vertical line of the display.
  9. If you selected the custom option for the offset, in the Offset Pixel field, type the number of pixels between the captions and the central horizontal or vertical line of the display.
  10. Select the font and background color.
  11. For the Background Transparency setting, select one of the following options:
    • Transparent: To set a transparent background.

    • Opaque: To set a non-transparent background.

  12. In the text box, type the caption text.
  13. To send the captions to the codec display, click Send.
  14. To stop sending the captions, click Stop.
