Last Updated : Jun 06, 2025 |

About this task

You can configure the audio for the USB input and output and determine if other microphones or output devices are muted when a USB microphone is connected to the codec. You can also enable automatic echo cancellation for a USB microphone or echo elimination for the USB audio input.

Procedure

  1. On the Settings menu, go to Audio > USB Audio.
  2. On the USB Audio page, to enable the USB port as the audio input, select the Enable USB Audio In check box.
  3. To enable the USB port as the audio output, select the Enable USB Audio Out check box.
  4. To mute other microphones when a USB microphone is connected to the codec, select the Mute Other Microphone When USB Phone Connected check box.
  5. To use only the connected USB audio output device, do one of the following:
    • For C130, select the Mute HDMI-OUT And SPEAKER When USB Phone Connected check box to mute the audio from the HDMI output and built-in speaker when a USB microphone is connected to the codec.

    • For C170 and C190, select the Mute HDMI-OUT When USB Phone Connected check box to mute the audio from the HDMI output when a USB microphone is connected to the codec.

  6. To enable automatic echo cancellation for the connected USB microphone, select the Auto Echo Cancellation On USB Microphone check box.

Automatic echo cancellation eliminates the echo during audio and video conferencing. You can disable automatic echo cancellation on the codec if you are already using echo cancellation on the connected microphone and speakers.

  7. If you disabled automatic echo cancellation for the USB microphone, to eliminate echo for the USB audio input, select the Enable Echo Elimination On USB Audio Input check box.
  8. Scroll to the top of the USB Audio page and select the Show Advanced Settings check box.
  9. To send the USB input audio to the HDMI 1 output, select the Enable HDMI-1 including USB audio in check box.
  10. To send the USB input audio to the USB output, select the USB output contains USB audio input check box.
  11. Click Save.
