This chapter provides instructions for backing up and restoring the Branch Gateway configuration using local backups (USB) and remote backups (network servers). These procedures are important for Branch Gateway replication and restoration after failures.
Backup and restore methods
Local backup: Use a USB mass storage device with the backup config usb and restore usb CLI commands. The local backup method is the most efficient way to restore the Branch Gateway.
Remote backup: For the remote Branch Gateway, backup and restore individual files using the TFTP, FTP, SCP, or HTTPS server.
The backup config usb command saves the gateway configuration, announcement files, TLS certificates, and special VoIP parameters to a USB drive. You can use the USB drive to restore the files to a previously known good state.
