Preserving SNMP engine ID

About this task

Perform this procedure only if you want to preserve the same SNMP engine ID to use it after you replace the motherboard. By default, the gateway derives the SNMP engine ID from the motherboard's MAC address.

Procedure

  1. Record the old engine ID using the following command:

    show snmp engineID

  2. Save the old engine ID to the new motherboard using the following command:

    snmp-server engineID <engineID>
