Proper grounding of the Branch Gateway installation protects the system, users, and service personnel from lightning, power surges, AC mains faults, power crosses on central office trunks, and electrostatic discharge (ESD).
When installing the Branch Gateway, you must follow the local electrical installation codes.
Danger:
In AC powered systems, connect through both the AC Power Cord and the supplementary ground conductor for safe operation of the Branch Gateway.
For DC powered systems, you only need the supplementary ground connector.
Warning:
An improper ground can cause an electrical shock, equipment failures, and service outages.
