udp keepalive

Last Updated : Jun 01, 2021 |

Configures the timer after which, the gateway sends an RTP packet if no data is sent over a VoIP media channel. When the gateway is in Edge Mode and data traffic is light, the gateway must send UDP Keep-Alive messages to keep the NAT connection open for incoming RTP encoded media streams. Audio and non-audio links are covered in the VoIP media channels. For non-audio media streams, edge gateway supports the following categories:

  • RFC 4040 Clear channel data

  • T.38 Fax data

  • V.150.1 IP Modem relay data

Note:

This command is applicable when the gateway is in Edge Mode.
