Resets a specified system resource. This command performs a hard reset of the specified entity, returning any selectable parameters to their startup configuration values and setting all hardware and firmware to a known state.

If the Supervisor modules are in Active or Standby configuration, resetting the active supervisor causes the standby supervisor to take over and become active.

The reset command does not work while the configuration is being saved.

If a reset command is issued while a backup or restore operation is in progress, a query displays, inquiring whether you want to reset. If the gateway is reset while a backup or restore operation is in progress, the backup or restore operation fails.
