SSH PuTTY Connection (Windows)

This process uses the information provided in the COM menus to setup a PuTTY connection.
Before you begin
  1. View the customer list. See Using the Customer List.
  2. In the customer list, click on the customer's system name:
    1. For the IP Office server to which you want to connect or connect through, click Remote Support Services.
    2. Click SSH Access Information.
    3. Replace Full Path of Proxy Tunnel Utility with the full path of the folder in which you stored the downloaded utility files. For example; C:\\Proxytunnel\proxytunnel.exe.
    4. Click Generate SSH Command.
  3. Example addresses are shown in the SSH Access Using Putty and SSH Access pf servers co-located to IP Office using Putty sections. In the following steps, click on the Copy to Clipboard icon to copy and paste the required address for the step.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    • Strings shown as ******** are automatically replaced with the required value when cut and pasted.
  4. Start PuTTY.
  5. Click Session.
  6. In Host Name, paste the appropriate Putty Hostname (Windows) from the COM menu.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    • For a server co-located with the customer's IP Office, replace the <co-located-server-ip-address> value with the IP address of the server.
  7. Set the Port to 22.
  8. Click Proxy.
  9. Set the Proxy Type to Local.
  10. In Telnet command or local proxy command, paste the appropriate Local Proxy Command for Putty (Windows) from the COM menu.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
    • For a server co-located with the customer's IP Office, replace the <co-located-server-ip-address> value as above.
  11. Click Open.
