Avaya Aura System Manager failover

Last Updated : Dec 19, 2023 |

Avaya Aura® System Manager failover from active to standby

Impact

Admin connector synchronization with System Manager stops when the primary System Manager fails.

The secondary System Manager requires manual activation to provide services during an outage.

The recommended configuration is for the admin connector to connect to the Primary FQDN of System Manager during normal working conditions. Hence, for geo-redundant environments, the Application Center Administration enables you to configure FQDN for secondary System Manager.

System Manager DR for Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway alarms requires two SNMP profiles created for primary and secondary System Managers. In a regular scenario, Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway sends alarms to both the System Managers. In standby mode, the secondary System Manager ignores the alarms. The primary System Manager displays the alarms. When the primary System Manager is non-functional, and the secondary System Manager becomes active, the secondary System Manager processes and displays the new alarms.
