Upgrading the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway cluster setup

Last Updated : Feb 21, 2024 |

About this task

In a cluster setup, you can upgrade cluster nodes in any order.

Before you begin

If you want to upgrade your existing Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway to release 1.0.2 using the binary file, ensure to take a VMware snapshot of the Avaya Hybrid Cloud Gateway system.

You must take the snapshot due to a limitation in performing a rollback to the previous version.

Procedure

  1. To do a zero downtime upgrade in a cluster setup, refer to the zero downtime upgrade instructions at Upgrading during zero downtime.
  2. Use the following command to upgrade a node: app upgrade <binary name> --wait_time <timer value in minutes>.

The wait time is when the node moves to a maintenance mode and waits for the active calls to end and for active registrations to move to a different node. After the wait time is complete, the node upgrade starts automatically even if the calls on the node do not end.

The maximum wait time is 500 minutes. After the node upgrade, the maintenance mode of the node is automatically disabled.
