! = Host PLDS ID Field

For a virtualized server, IP Office uses the fields marked with a ! symbol to generate the Host PLDS ID. Changing any of the fields can change that ID. If you have used the ID to generate local (nodal) PLDS licenses, those licenses become invalid. This does not affect WebLM (centralized) PLDS licenses. Refer to the manual "Deploying Avaya IP Office Servers as Virtual Machines" for further details.

The IP Office uses fields marked with a * symbol as part of the self-signed certificate it generates. If you change one of these fields, the IP Office generates a new self-signed certificate. Certificate generation disrupts access to the server for several minutes. In addition, you must update the certificate used by any applications.

Settings	Description
Network Interface	Default = Eth0 Selects the network interfaces you are configuration. Within the IP Office configuration, Eth0 matches LAN1, Eth1 matches LAN2.
Enable IPv6	Default = Disabled When enabled, the IP Office system supports IPv6 features on the selected LAN. IP Office supports IPv6 on Linux-based IP Office systems only.
Host Name ! *	Sets the host name that the IP Office Server Edition should use. This setting requires the local network to support a DNS server. Do not use localhost. For internal use, this value must be resolvable by DNS within the customer network. If the IP Office is also supporting external client connections, the value must also be resolvable to the IP Office by external DNS. External access must also include a firewall and/or SBC. Consult with the customer's IT support to ensure the name is acceptable and that routing to it is configured correctly.
Use DHCP ! *	If selected, the IP Office obtains its IP address, subnet mask and default gateway information by making a DHCP request. The menu displays the values obtained.
IP Address ! *	Displays the IP address set for the server. If not using DHCP, you can edit the field to change the setting.
Subnet Mask	Displays the subnet mask applied to the IP address. If not using DHCP, you can edit the field to change the setting.
Default Gateway	Displays the default gateway settings for routing. If not using DHCP, you can edit the field to change the setting.
System DNS	The address of the primary DNS server. Disabled when Automatically obtain DNS from provider is enabled.
Automatically obtain DNS from provider	Default = Enabled This setting is available after enabling Use DHCP. If enabled, the IP Office requests DNS server details from the DHCP server. If disabled, the IP Office uses the System DNS value.
Create Subinterface	Create a subinterface.
Delete Subinterface	Delete the subinterface.

IPv6 address settings

You can use the following settings after enabling Enable IPv6.

Settings	Description
Use DHCPv6	Default = Enabled The IP Office system request IPv6 address information from a DHCPv6 server on the LAN.
IPv6 Address	Default = Blank Sets or shows the IP Office IPv6 address on the LAN. You cannot change the address if the IP Office is a DHCPv6 client. You cannot change the address if the IP Office is using Stateless Address Auto-configuration (SLAAC). If setting a static address, the IP Office supports /64 subnet prefixes only. The IP Office supports IPv6 addresses in the following formats: Full address: For example, 2001:0000:040F:0000:0000:0000:805B:001B. Replace one series of :0000: parts with ::. For example, 2001:0000:040F::805B:001B. Replace any individual :0000: parts with :0:. For example, 2001:0:040F::805B:001B. Remove leading 0 zeros after any : colon. For example, 2001:0:40F::805B:1B.
Prefix	Default = 64 When using a static IPv6 address, the IP Office uses a fixed /64 prefix.
Default Gateway	Display = Blank Displays the default gateway settings for routing. If not using DHCP, you can edit the field to change the setting.
System DNS	Default = Blank The address of the primary DNS server. Disabled when Automatically obtain DNS from provider is enabled.
Automatically obtain DNS from provider	Default = Enabled This setting is available after enabling Use DHCPv6. If enabled, the IP Office requests DNS server details from the DHCP server. If disabled, the IP Office uses the System DNS value.
