This chapter explains user administration on Session Manager.
System Manager provides bulk importing of user profiles and user attributes. For more information about bulk importing of user profiles, see Bulk import and export.
For information on the Multi Tenancy feature, see Administering Avaya Aura® System Manager.
Note:
While administering a user, the secondary, third, or fourth Session Manager should not be hosted on the VMware platform unless the primary Session Manager is also hosted on the VMware platform.
When you register a SIP endpoint of a user to the Avaya core, assign a communication profile to the user. The communication profile contains a Communication Manager endpoint and a Session Manager profile.
The Communication Manager profile associates the user with a station on Communication Manager in the Avaya core network.
The Session Manager profile assigns:
The primary, secondary, third, or fourth Session Managers if Fixed communication policy is selected
The primary, secondary, third, or fourth regions if Fixed-region communication policy is selected
Relevant application sequences
The survivability server
Note:
The third or fourth Session Managers or the primary through the fourth region are assigned when you select the Enable Policy Based Assignment of Session Manager feature on the Global Settings page.
For application sequencing to Communication Manager, each application in the application sequence must reference the same Communication Manager as the Communication Manager endpoint profile.
For survivability configuration, if a Branch Session Manager is specified as the survivability server, the Branch Session Manager must also reference the same Communication Manager as the Communication Manager endpoint profile.
A user can have multiple Communication Profiles.
