To accommodate third-party SIP equipment that has limits on the size of SIP messages it can accept, the routing-headers adapter (RoutingHeadersAdapter) reduces the size of SIP requests sent by Session Manager by removing unnecessary Record-Route and Via headers on egress, and restoring those removed headers on ingress for responses.
