Testing a push notification provider connection

Last Updated : Mar 24, 2025 |

Before you begin

Configure the push notification provider and generate the JSON authorization key to validate the connection between the notification provider and the Session Manager. See Configuring the Avaya Push Notification provider on Avaya Aura® Session Manager or Configuring a third-party push notification provider on Avaya Aura® Session Manager.

Procedure

  1. On the System Manager web console, click Elements > Session Manager  > Network Configuration  > Push Notification > Notification Provider.
  2. From the Provider Name list, select the notification provider check box, whose settings you want to test.
  3. Click Test.

The Notification Provider Test page is shown.

  4. From the Session Manager list, select the Session Manager check box against which the notification provider test is executed.

You can select one or more Session Managers to run the test.

  5. Click Execute Test to verify that Session Manager can connect and authenticate with the push notification provider.

The test status and its details are shown in the Result and Detail columns.

  6. Do one of the following:
    • If the test is successful, click Done.

    • If the test fails, fix the issue as described in the Avaya Aura® Session Manager cannot connect to a push notification provider section of Troubleshooting Avaya Aura® Session Manager and then re-run the connectivity test.

If the problem persists, contact Avaya support personnel.

      Note:

If the APN server sends 429 Too Many Requests, Session Manager waits for 60 seconds and automatically retries the test again.
