The DigitConversionAdapter will adapt SIP request and SIP response messages. It uses the following pieces of information to perform digit adaptation on the Request-URI, To header, From header, History-Info header, P-Asserted-Identity header, Contact header (of 3xx responses), and Notify message-summary message body:

• Adaptation direction (incoming/ingress or outgoing/egress)

• Matching digit pattern and corresponding digits to remove/insert

• Domain name change for source components and destination components

• Classification of the header as a origination or destination header
