Failback Policy

The option to set the Manual or automatic failback for SIP phones.

The options are the following:

  • Auto: When Failback Policy is set to Auto, the SIP phones automatically failbacks to normal operation when connectivity to their primary Session Manager is restored.

  • Manual: When Failback Policy is set to Manual, you must manually initiate the failback to normal operation when connectivity to the primary Session Manager is restored.

The default value is Auto.

Note:

For Branch Session Manager, the failback policy setting does not apply. Failback from Branch Session Manager always gets initiated in coordination with the failback policy of the collocated SRS.

Allow Unauthenticated Emergency Calls

The option to enable unauthenticated users to make emergency calls.

ELIN SIP Entity

The SIP Entity of the ELIN server. Session Manager sends the device registration information to the ELIN server, and the ELIN server returns the associated ELIN to Session Manager. Emergency services uses the ELIN received to identify the location of callers during an emergency call.

Ignore SDP for Call Admission Control

The option to determine whether Call Admission Control (CAC) uses the SDP in SIP messages to calculate the bandwidth used a call uses.

When you select this check box, all calls are audio calls using the bandwidth specified as a Default Audio Bandwidth of the location.

When you clear this check box, CAC evaluates an SDP of a call to determine call type and bandwidth use.

Disable Call Admission Control Threshold Alarms

The option to disable the alarms generated when Call Admission Control alarm thresholds are exceeded. Alarms are still generated by call denials when bandwidth limits get exceeded.

Disable Loop Detection Alarms

The option to disable the generation of Loop Detection alarms.

Loop Detection Alarms Threshold (hours)

The interval after which the Session Manager generates an alarm for a Loop Detection event.

The default value is 24 hours. The allowed range is from 1 to 168 hours.

This field is required if you do not select the Disable Loop Detection Alarms option.

Load Factor Alarm Threshold (80 - 150)

The factor after which Session Manager generates an alarm when a Session Manager or a Branch Session Manager profile exceeds its defined load factor.

The default value is 100. The allowed range is from 80 to 150.

To override the load factor alarm threshold value, you can define a separate load factor value for an individual Session Manager or a Branch Session Manager on the Session Manager Administration page.

Enable Dial Plan Ranges

The option to specify dial plan ranges on the Dial Pattern Details page.

Note:

To specify a dial plan range, ensure that all Session Manager and Branch Session Manager instances are on software release 6.3.2 or later.

Enable Regular Expression Adaptations

The option to enable regular expression adaptations.

Enable Device Adaptations

The option to enable device adaptations.

You can enable this option to create device adaptations and device mappings.

Note:
  • To enable this option, all Session Manager instances must be on software release 8.1.2 or later.

  • You cannot disable this setting until you remove all device mappings and adaptations of the type device.

Enable Flexible Routing

The option to enable flexible routing.

Better Matching Dial Pattern or Range in Location ALL Overrides Match in Originator's Location

The patterns associated with ALL locations may precede the dial patterns associated with a specific location.

Set Precedence for Routing

The option to set precedence for routing. The options are the following:

  • Dial Patterns

  • Regular Expressions

Set Dial Patterns Precedence

The option to set the precedence order for dial patterns.

Use the Up and Down arrows to set the precedence order of dial patterns.

HTTPS Proxy Host

The field to enter the proxy host details for forward proxy configuration. The valid address types are:

  • IPv4

  • IPv6

  • FQDN

HTTPS Proxy Port

The field to enter the proxy port details for forward proxy configuration.

Enable IPv6

The option to control support of IPv6 addresses for administering Session Manager.

The Enable IPv6 check box is cleared by default. When you select the Enable IPv6 check box, Session Manager supports IPv6 addresses for administration.

Allow Unsecured PPM Traffic

The option to enable PPM traffic over HTTP to continue processing phone login and download button labels, contact lists, and other services.

Minimum SIP Entity TLS Version

Minimum TLS versions for SIP entity. The options are the following:

  • 1.0

  • 1.1

  • 1.2

  • 1.3

For any Session Manager upgrading to Release 10.1, the pre-upgrade TLS version is carried forward.

For any new Session Manager deployment to Release 10.1 and later, the default value is 1.2.

Minimum Endpoint TLS Version

Minimum TLS versions for SIP endpoints. The options are the following:

  • 1.0

  • 1.1

  • 1.2

  • 1.3

For any Session Manager upgrading to Release 10.1, the pre-upgrade TLS version is carried forward.

For any new Session Manager deployment to Release 10.1, the default value is 1.2.

TLS Endpoint Certificate Validation

Validation of an endpoint certificate on a TLS connection. The options are:

  • None: No mutual authentication occurs because there is no certificate validation.

  • Optional: Communication occurs irrespective of whether the endpoint presents a valid certificate.

  • Required: Communication occurs only if the endpoint presents a valid certificate trusted by Session Manager.

This setting applies to all Session Manager and Branch Session Manager instances in the managed network.

Note:

The Optional selection is supported on all Session Manager releases and is the default value for software release 7.0 and later. To support backward compatibility, the Required setting for Session Manager releases earlier than 7.0.1 equals the Optional setting.

Enable End to End Secure Call Indication

The option to enable the indication to the end-user whether the signaling and the media are end-to-end secure.

Enable Military Support

The option to enable the features for military deployments and to configure Session Manager with specific domains to prioritize calls within those domains.

By default, the Enable Military Support feature is disabled.

MLPP Network Domain(s)

The domains to which Session Manager gives precedence to establish calls.

You can enter multiple domain names separated by a comma (,).

Enable Application Sequence for Emergency Calls

The option to enable application sequence for emergency calls.

Emergency Call Resource-Priority Headers

The field to define resource-priority headers used to identify an emergency call.

When Session Manager receives an invite request with the resource priority header value, Session Manager considers this call as an emergency call.

Enable Implicit User Applications for the SIP users

The option to enable Implicit User sequenced applications for SIP users.

Enable SIP Resiliency

The option to enable SIP resiliency. Use of this feature requires SIP endpoints that support SIP resiliency.

Enable Policy Based Assignment of Session Managers

The option to enable automated assignment of Session Manager to a user communication profile based on a defined policy.

Enable Branch Visiting User

The option to enable a branch-visiting user.

This option auto-assigns the Branch Session Manager to a visiting branch user.

Note:

To enable this option, do the following:

  • Ensure all Branch Session Manager instances are on software release 8.1.3 or later.

  • Enable the Dial Plan Transparency feature for all Branch Session Manager and core locations.

Enable Mobile Push Notification

The option to activate push notifications for calling services from core Session Manager.

Notification EC500 delay (secs)

The number of seconds by which Communication Manager delays the extension of the incoming call to the cellular network.

You can set the number of seconds from 4 to 10.

Log Retention (days)

The number of days for which logs are retained.

Centralized Call History Retention (days)

The field to enter the number of days for which centralized call history is retained.

A centralized call history of a user is a collection of information on the 100 most recent calls made and received by the user that the Avaya SIP endpoint has access to and can display.

Note:

For this information to be collected by Session Manager and displayed for the user on the Avaya SIP Endpoints, Enable Centralized Call History option must be enabled in the User Management > Manage Users  > Edit > Communication Profile of the Session Manager Profile User Interface.

Stir/Shaken Ingress Normalization

The option to set the message normalization for the inbound messages.

The options are:

  • Transparent: This is the default option. Session Manager does not perform any action on the messages.

  • Normalize: Session Manager formats the Attestation-Info header and verstat parameter in the P-Asserted-Identity and From headers before routing the inbound messages.

  • Remove: Session Manager removes the information, such as the Attestation-Info header and verstat parameter in the P-Asserted-Identity and From headers, before routing the inbound messages.

To change the setting to Normalize or Remove, all the Session Manager and Branch Session Manager instances must be on Release 10.2 or later.
