Creating a device mapping

About this task

For each device mapping, you must assign at least one adaptation.

Note:

Device mappings can only be created for adaptations of type device and regular expression.

Before you begin

You must enable the Enable Device Adaptations option on the Global Settings page for performing the add, edit, duplicate, and delete operations on the Device Mappings page.

Procedure

  1. On the System Manager web console, click Elements > Routing  > Adaptations > Device Mappings.
  2. Click New.
  3. On the Device Mapping Details page, in the General section, do the following:
    1. In the Name field, type a descriptive name for the device mappings.
    2. In the User Agent field, type a user agent name or a regular expression.

      This field is validated only when the adaptation is of type regular expression.

    3. In the Origination Dial Pattern Set field, click the created origination dial pattern set from the drop-down menu.
    4. In the Notes field, type a description about the device mapping.
    5. In the Order field, click the related ordering for the device mapping.
  4. In the Adaptations section, do the following:
    1. Click Add.

      Repeat the procedure to add multiple adaptations. For information on creating device adaptations, see Creating Regular Expression Adaptations.

      Session Manager displays the adaptation row to map the device mapping to the created device adaptation.

    2. In the Names field, click the required adaptations from the drop-down menu.
    3. Click the arrow icons in the Order field to rank the adaptations.

  5. Click Commit.
