Load Factor overview

Last Updated : Mar 05, 2021 |

Load factor is a measure of usage of profile capacity of a Session Manager calculated based on the number of users, devices, and sessions. This value is then used to determine from which Session Manager a user gets its service when a user is assigned a fixed-region or location-region communication profile. Session Manager publishes the load factor to other Session Managers within the region whenever requested. As a result, the least loaded Session Manager gets automatically assigned to a user's communication profile.

The load factor value for Session Manager or Branch Session Manager can be viewed from the Session Manager Dashboard and the Session Manager Load Factor pages. The Session Manager Dashboard page displays the load factor of a Session Manager for the current/last hour peak/last 24 hour peak periods. The Session Manager Load Factor page provides a detailed status on the number of users, devices, and sessions with the load factor for the current/last hour peak/last 24 hour peak periods. You can also view the load factor for a region on the Session Manager Load Factor page along with the details of the underlying Session Managers and Branch Session Managers.
