Enabling Branch Visiting User survivability

About this task

User this procedure to activate the auto assignment of the Branch Session Manager to a visiting branch user.

Before you begin

Before you enable the Branch Visiting User survivability feature:

  • Ensure that all Session Manager and Branch Session Manager instances are on software release 8.1.3 or later.

  • Administer the Branch Session Manager with the correct location on the Routing > SIP Entities web page.

  • Administer all possible IP Address Patterns to the location of the Branch Session Manager on the Routing > Locations web page.

  • Enable the Dial Plan Transparency feature for all Branch Session Managers and core locations.

Procedure

  1. On the System Manager web console, click Elements > Session Manager > Global Settings.
  2. On the Global Settings page select the Enable Branch Visiting User check box.
  3. Click Commit.
