Call handling rules

Prolog information
Call handling rules enable you to manage incoming calls. You can use the call handling settings to redirect incoming calls, configure ring orders, and set up forwarding options. For instance, you can redirect your missed calls to a coworker or send after-hour calls to your voicemail. You can adjust the ring durations for each phone number and device, choose whether they ring simultaneously or sequentially, and customize the ring order as required.

Work schedule

Your work schedule defines your working days and hours. By configuring a work schedule, you can set distinct call handling rules for work hours and after hours. When you create a work schedule in Avaya Cloud Office™, it automatically sets up your after hours and creates a rule to forward the incoming calls to your voicemail when you are not working. Without a configured work schedule, your call handling rules apply around the clock. However, you can create custom rules for specific periods as required.

Custom call handling rules

Custom call handling rules enable you to create tailored call rules for your account. You can define rules based on the following criteria:
  • Callers: Set rules for particular callers.
  • Phone numbers: Apply distinct rules for the phone numbers assigned to you.
  • Schedule: Create rules based on the time of day or specific days of the week.
You can use the above criteria in any combination when creating your custom rules. For example, you can set up a rule for your deskphone to play an announcement message to callers during your lunch break. Or forward calls received during weekly meetings to available coworkers.
