Configuring your personal meeting settings

Prolog information
You can update the default personal meeting settings. For example, you can change your personal meeting ID (PMI) or set up a name for your meeting. You can also add password protection to your meetings, specify which types of participants can join, and disable cameras, microphones, or screen-sharing for participants.
  1. On the side menu bar, click the Video tab.
  2. From the Upcoming meetings tab, click Personal meeting.
  3. From the context menu, click the View Settings icon.
    STEP RESULT:
    displays the Personal meeting settings window.
  4. Configure the settings according to your preferences.
  5. Click Save.

The following table lists the meeting settings you can configure in the Personal meeting settings menu. These settings apply to all meetings that you organize.

Description
Personal meeting ID
To view and modify your personal meeting ID (PMI) that othercan use to join your meetings. Your PMI is a 9-digit number.
provides a randomized PMI by default.
Personal meeting name
To view and modify your personal meeting name that otherusers can use to join your meetings. You can use your meeting name as an alternative to your meeting ID.
The personal meeting name must comply with the following requirements:
  • Contain at least one letter.
  • Contain from 5 to 40 characters.
  • Contain only letters, digits, underscore (_), dash (-), and period (.) characters.
  • End with a letter or a digit.
Personal meeting settings
Use Personal meeting ID or name for instant meetings
To enable participants to join your meeting through your personal meeting ID (PMI) or personal meeting name.
If disabled, users can join your meetings only through a meeting link. You must start a meeting through your personal meeting room to allow users to join with your PMI or personal meeting name.
Require password
To set a password requirement for your meeting. You can check your existing password and type a new password using the field next to this check box.
This setting is enabled by default.
Participants can only join after host
To enter the meeting room first and admit participants.
  • If disabled, the meeting starts when the first participant arrives.
  • If enabled, the meeting starts when you arrive.
Enable waiting room
To enable participants to use the waiting room.
  • If enabled, participants must wait until you admit them to your meeting. Participants in a waiting room cannot interact with each other.
  • If disabled, participants join the meeting as they arrive.
After enabling this setting,displays the Enable waiting room for list.
Enable waiting room for
To configure who can use the waiting room. You can enable the waiting room for the following options:
  • Everyone
  • Anyone outside my company
  • Anyone not signed in
Advanced settings
Only authenticated users can join
To restrict meeting access to signed-in users. You have the following options:
  • Off
  • Signed in co-workers
  • Signed in users
Turn off camera for participants
To restrict camera access to host and moderators.
Mute audio for participants
To restrict microphone access to host and moderators.
Only host & moderators can share screen
To restrict screen sharing access to host and moderators.
