Adding a data center

Last Updated : Jun 10, 2026 |

About this task

Data center is an entity that is used to logically combine Session Managers deployed in the same location. If you use an Avaya Aura® Device Services cluster, then every Session Manager instance that is paired with Avaya Aura® Device Services must be a part of a data center.

In geographically distributed deployments, you usually create a data center for each location in your deployment.

Procedure

  1. On the System Manager web console, click Elements > Session Manager  > Session Manager Administration > Groups.
  2. On the Session Manager Groups tab, click New > New Data Center.

System Manager displays the New Session Manager Group page.

  3. In the Name field, type the data center name.
  4. In the Description field, type a description about the data center.

You can assign a Session Manager to the data center while or after creating a data center. For Session Manager assignment, see Assigning Session Manager to a data center.

  5. Click Commit.

System Manager displays the Confirm Data Center assignments page.

  6. Verify the data center assignment.
  7. Click Confirm.

Next Steps

Assign Session Manager to the data center.
