Third-party CA-signed certificates

Last Updated : Jun 10, 2026 |

If you do not want to use System Manager for certificate management, Avaya Aura® Device Services enables you to use certificates specific to your organization and have the certificates signed by a third-party private or public certificate authority. If you deploy Avaya Aura® Device Services in an environment without Avaya Aura®, you must use third-party certificates because Avaya Aura® Device Services cannot use System Manager for certificate management.

You can import third-party CA certificates either during or after Avaya Aura® Device Services installation.

If you use third-party CA certificates, you must import third-party root and intermediate CA certificates into the trust stores of each server that interact with Avaya Aura® Device Services, including the following:

  • System Manager

  • Session Manager

  • Avaya Aura® Session Border Controller

  • Avaya Meetings Server

If you use System Manager for certificate management, Avaya Aura® Device Services does not require any additional third-party certificates.
